Zoe Backstedt (Canyon//SRAM Racing Team) led the first chase, while favorites like Lucinda Brand et Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado (Fenix-Deceuninck) remained discreet within the peloton. As the race progresses, Brand et Alvarado went on the attack, joining Schreiber in the third round.
Shortly afterwards, a group including Backstedtbut also Sara Casasola (Crelan-Corendon), Annemarie Worst (Cyclocross Reds) et Inge van der Heijden (Crelan-Corendon) has reformed. Van der Heijden then launched an attack, briefly taking the lead. However, a collision between Van der Heijden et Alvarado in the fourth round allowed Brand to escape, creating what appeared to be a decisive gap. Alvaradodetermined to respond, chased Brand and, on the fifth lap, seized the opportunity to open up a decisive gap. Despite a big effort in the finale of Brand, Alvarado held on to take the win.
