On this day of November 11, the Condat Cyclist Union organized the 5th edition of the “Souvenir Benoit GIROIR” Cyclocross in the town of Saint-Martin-Le-Vieux.

This meeting, unmissable for all graduates and their friends from Cond, remains a test and a moment that is as moving as ever.

The volunteers worked throughout the day to ensure that this event took place in the best possible conditions and in a friendly atmosphere.

Nearly a hundred competitors, divided into various categories, competed in fairly cool and cloudy weather, ideal weather for competitors.

It was the U17s who opened the ball.

From the start, a group of 7 runners stood out and set the pace for this race which promised to be explosive and pleasant to follow. The Condatois, outnumbered in this group, took the lead to try to destabilize their adversaries. This group was therefore composed of the Condatois L. Lepers, A. Lamargot, E. Bardit, M. Theyomaa, the Ambazacois A. Lalouet, the Bosmiaud H. Darthoux and the Creusois E. Leduc.

Young Lamargot tried several times to blow up this little world but in vain… It was really in the final packaging and in the final turn that the group lost elements. In this little game the member of the Bosmian club Hugo Darthoux was faster and took the upper hand to cross the line in front of the Condatois Louis Lepers and Aaron Lamargot.

At the end of this breathtaking race, the U11 category continued.

It is the Condat Mr. Bourg who takes off from the start. He increases his gap over the laps and wins this event very well. He is ahead of Tulliste Y. Amira. To complete the podium we find another Condatois E. Recotillon. In the women's category the victory goes to the young Condatoise A. Bourg.

In the U13 category, spectators witnessed a very nice demonstration from Ambazac native L. Masle. Two Conda residents complete the podium, G. Vauzelle and T. Bicnau Leboutet. Condatoise L. Roux wins in this category.

In the next category, the U15s, victory went to Corrézien R. Clemente, after a race dominated from start to finish. Bellachon A. Achalme de Rouffignac achieved, despite the winner's great dominance, a very good race finishing, after a remarkable final lap, only 10 seconds behind. The Ambazacois S. Masle completes the podium.

Finally the queen categories, Senior men, women and U19 came to close this beautiful day.

No less than 45 competitors set out to do battle. Note a big departure from Condat L. Charles who was followed by Corréziens R. Luinaud and A. Delrieu. At the end of the second round the two Corréziens took off. They won't be caught again. R. Luinaud takes off and masterfully reaches the finish line. Second place goes to A. Delrieu, another member from Corrèze. The battle was fiercer for the places of honor. Finally third place goes to Limougeaud G. Gazonaud. 17 competitors still finish in the same lap. A beautiful spectacle for the spectators who came in large numbers.

For the ladies the victory goes to L. Bonin. She is ahead of A. Peyne and S. Lavaud.

Among the U19s very nice duel between the Creuse resident L. Toupenet and the Condat resident M. Pasquet. This beautiful pass of arms turned to the advantage of the young Creuse resident L. Toupenet.

This 5th edition closed with the traditional awards ceremony. This ceremony was an opportunity to pay tribute to our late friend Benoit. The different cups were presented by his wife Valérie and Madam Mayor.

The Condat Cyclist Union thanks the municipality of Saint-Martin-Le-Vieux for providing the infrastructure for the organization of this event.
