Going from Laval in Mayenne to Istanbul (Türkiye) by bike, using the strength of his calves, absolutely does not scare this septuagenarian. Alain Denis, a 72-year-old Laval resident, is quite a cyclist. “I cycle around 16,000 km per year. » For several decades, he has scrupulously noted all the distances he achieves on two wheels. And it's impressive. “Since 1985, I have cycled 508,000 km. Before, I didn't write down what I did. I must be between 600,000 and 700,000 km. »
