It's off again at high speed for the Valencians who, just after putting away their road bikes, switched to cyclo-cross. Alva cyclosport started strong with three victories already on its record in this discipline, including a double.
Alain Guizard as leader
In the fourth category, veteran Alain Guizard won in Miramont-de-Guyenne (47), on October 27, on the demanding 2.8 km circuit of Lac du Saut-du-Loup, between meadows and woods. It included steep climbs with very technical sections made slippery by the rains the day before. Alain monitored his opponents from the start to find himself alone in the lead after the first difficulty and run a perfect race, without errors. He quickly opened up a big gap on his two pursuers to pick his first bouquet in cyclo-cross.
The following weekend, in Castillonnès, still in Lot-et-Garonne, he did it again on a 2.2 km circuit laid out in the meadow, fast and rolling, well prepared by the Cyclo 4 Haut Agenais. In great shape and motivated, he took control very quickly and dominated the race until the finish, maintaining a good lead over his runner-up. Jean-Claude Chabourlin, XXL veteran, also participated. A puncture forced him to retire.
Adrien Bongiovanni as dauphin
As the saying goes: “Never two without three”. The same day but in third category, young Adrien Bongiovanni did everything to glean his first victory in cyclo-cross and complete the club's record. After remaining in control throughout the race with the second in the event, he accelerated 200 meters from the finish when crossing the boards to finish a few lengths ahead. Alva cyclosport congratulates its two members and encourages them for all the events to come.
