At the Remparts de Langres cyclo-cross, “there will be customers! »

The day after the Crémaillère trail, it's time for the Remparts cyclo-cross, in Langres, this Sunday, November 3, from 10 a.m. A promising edition, with a quality field in the Elite race and a difficult prediction to make. May the best win!

Sport is in the spotlight in Langres this All Saints' Day weekend. Saturday, November 2, the trail runners were present, for the Crémaillère trail (read on page 25), while the cyclo-crossmen take over, this Sunday, November 3, from 10 a.m., for the Remparts race. Although starting from the principle that we do not change a formula that works, the organizers have chosen to make some modifications to the route, as explained by Jean-Marc Journiac, the president of the Langres Vélo club. “At the end of the route, unlike last year, we go a little further, towards the Henry-IV gate. We have also added bumps (whoops) which should delight children and young people, perhaps adults a little less! On the other hand, there is always the gateway. »

Beyond the circuit, it is above all the weather that Jean-Marc Journiac scrutinizes. Indeed, “If the course is not greasy, it will be less hard and will facilitate recovery. » Especially since it should go quickly, very quickly even, considering the XXL plateau present on the ramparts.

“There will be customers!” »proudly declares the president of the Langres Vélo club. Firstly, last year's winner, Lucas Dubau, who has been present since the creation of the event. As Haut-Marnais Philippe Chambrey, Lucas Dubau did not fail to point out “made a very good start to the season with, among other things, a 6e place in the 2024 French Elite championship and a 5e place at the French Cup in Nommay (), Sunday October 27. »

Jean-Marc Journiac, he “puts a small coin on Quentin Navarro” because, as Philippe Chambrey explains, “he is a pure cyclo specialist, with solid references. He can play and create a surprise. » Also watch out for “locals”. This is the case of Axel Ottiger, “a long-time member of the Langres Vélo club. » For Philippe Chambrey, “on a good day, he can make a top 5. Winner this season at Celsoy, he finished 17e last weekend in Nommay, during the first round of the French U21 Cup. »

“Great fights are hoped for”

Trained at the Montigny Roue Libre club, Aurélien Philibert arrives in Langres with great motivation, having never won on the Plateau! And Philippe Chambrey added: “He’s the reigning champion! He finished 10e to the “” Elite. »

For Jean-Marc Journiac, it will also be appropriate to watch like milk on the fire Valentin Remondet, winner of the international cyclo-cross, in 2023 and Thursday October 31, as well as Matéo Jot who, during the Pfastatt Lutterbach event , in Alsace, beat… Lucas Dubau!

“Great fights are hoped for”wishes the president of the Langres Vélo club who, given the quality of those involved, does not want to risk giving the podium.

No more than among the cadets where, there too, “the fight should be good”, notably between Vivien Genter, and the local of the stage, Théo Sirdey, Christophe's son, more motivated than ever to shine at home.

Without a doubt, a very good edition in perspective.
