Abbeville, poor performers in terms of facilities for cyclists

As a reminder, the French federation of bicycle users gave the worst grade to Abbeville in 2021: G, a grade down compared to the previous survey where the town obtained an F.

Aware of this difficulty generating accidents, Pascal Demarthe announced at the beginning of 2024, as part of Action coeur de ville, a large study of programming and development work on cycle paths.

To carry out this project intended to encourage , the town of Abbeville is organizing a public meeting on Thursday October 24, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. in the village hall, rue Josse Van Robais.

Pascal Demarthe, mayor of Abbeville, and his team invite residents to this event to “discuss the future of cycling in the town. This is in order to be able to participate in the development of the new cycling plan, a unique opportunity to contribute to cycling developments in Abbeville. »

A time for discussion planned

The objective is to jointly identify needs and solutions to improve daily cycling use. The program will include a presentation of cycling issues, followed by a discussion time and workshops on maps to explore the proposals in terms of bicycle developments and parking.

The municipality is counting on everyone’s proposals to “imagine together a living environment that is more respectful of the environment and more pleasant for everyone. »
