Last race of the 2024 season on the Women’s WorldTour calendar, the Tour de Guangxi – contested over a single day, unlike the men’s event – was won by Sandra Alonso ! Escape in the company of Giada Borghesi (Human Powered Health), the Spanish CERATIZIT-WNT Pro Cycling Teamendowed with a very good burst of speed, left the young Italian no chance in the final straight. The Torrevieja native thus won, at 26 years old, the greatest victory of her career.

Arriving almost 3 minutes late, the group of pursuers was sprinted by a teammate of the winner of the day, namely the Polish Marta Lach. The one who won the Chongming Island Tour (+ two stages) a few days ago beat the Austrian Kathrin Schweinberger… also a member of a training CERATIZIT-WNT Pro Cycling Team who thus achieved the performance of placing three of her runners in the first four of this 5th Tour de Guangxi. While the top 5 was completed by the Russian Tamara Dronova-Balabolina (Roland), the first French woman, Laura Asencio (CERATZIT-WNT Pro Cycling Team), finished thirteenth.
