Mountain bike trail No. 11, a 33 km route which crosses the municipalities of Elliant, Saint-Yvi, Melgven and Rosporden, was inaugurated on Tuesday October 8. This project is supported by Concarneau Cornouaille Agglomération (CCA), in partnership with the French Cycle Tourism Federation.

To guarantee the safety and comfort of users, the path has been carefully laid out: clear markings, information panels, etc. An agreement has even been signed with the owners of the plots crossed. “It is a 33 km portion, rather dedicated to mountain bikers but also suitable for walkers, which has just opened, with the creation of circuits to join already existing paths and with several possible starting points,” explained Michel Loussouarn, vice-president at CCA.

For the well-being of residents and for tourism

This new trail will allow you to discover the varied landscapes of the region, while promoting local economic development. “The hiking trails are set up for the well-being of residents, but also to attract tourists who are fond of this type of activity. After heritage, this is the second request to the tourist office. The goal is to bring them back thanks to the wealth of our region. The next step will be to develop the accommodation offer around the courses, because demand is strong,” concluded Raymond Messager, vice-president of the departmental council, which allocated a grant to help finance the project. For its part, CCA takes care of the promotion as well as the development of dedicated paths. Trail maintenance remains the responsibility of the municipalities.
