At the start of autumn, a hint of summer will return to Italy, this Saturday October 5. With Primoz Roglic, Tadej Pogacar and Remco Evenepoel, the 107e Giro dell’Emilia (or Tour d’Emilia in French) will look like a Tour de . Especially since the finale takes up the contours of the 2nd stage won by Kévin Vauquelin in Bologna. Dress rehearsal before the Tour of Lombardy, the last Monument of the year, the Giro dell’Emilia should offer a great fight between the behemoths of the peloton.

The route

Faithful to its first edition in 1909, the Giro dell’Emilia 2024 will revolve around Bologna. After a first part in line, the peloton will enter the Bologna circuit, well known to the riders who took part in the last Tour de France. In the finale of the 2nd stage, the riders had to deal with the coast of San Luca (2 km at 9.4%), leading to the eponymous sanctuary, twice before connecting the line in the city center of Bologna. This time, you will have to climb the hump five times, arriving at the summit.
