The final of the French Cup for U15-U17 departments took place from Saturday September 21 to Sunday September 22, 2024 in Trélon in the North. Four runners from Lot-et-Garonne traveled to take part in this final: Tom Péré, Lilian Viguié, Léa Langella and Alban Picard.

Although the first two unfortunately fell, that did not stop the young cyclists from Marmande, Léa Langella and Alban Picardto stand out by achieving very good results, all with the wise advice of coach Anthony Langella.

On the race against time (CLM)the Lot-et-Garonne departmental committee only fielded three riders, while almost all of the other departmental committees fielded six riders, which unfortunately put the CD47 representatives at a disadvantage. They still traveled the 17 km at an average of 43.69 km/h. The CD47 finished in 14th place in the rankings for this event.

On the U17 men’s road eventAlban Picard which recently extended with the Club Cycliste Marmande but who for his first junior year should also race with the FDJ pro team in U19offered himself a new victory this season in 1 h 48 min 33 s on a very technical circuit to be completed nine times for a total of 77 km. In the lead in the last turn, the young cyclist undeniable potential managed to win easily in the sprint.

Léa Langella: great promises for the future

On the test of time trial women U15/U17Léa Langella managed to raise CD47 to the third place thanks to an average of 38.30 km/h in a race won by Zoe Bihanthe current French U17 champion. A remarkable performance for Léa who is still playing in U15.

On the online testLéa Langella still takes 3rd place just behind the French champion (1st) and the U17 runner Adèle Onesime from CD59. In the general classification over the two days, the young and promising Léa Langella finished second. What foreshadows beautiful promises for the future!
