EMBROUILLE DES GéANTS – The ultra-trail star has just signed this Wednesday his first major victory in three years on the monstrous Tor des Géants (330 km and 24,000 m of D +). Another French runner, Martin Perrier, accuses him of cheating on this event in Italy

He was welcomed this Wednesday morning in Courmayeur (Italy), at sunrise, with champagne and “lalalalalalala François D’Haene”. At the end of an incredible adventure of 330 km and 24,000 m of elevation gain, the best French ultra-trail runner completed his first Tor des Géants in 69 hours and 8 minutes of effort. A monumental performance since it is the first major success of the four-time winner of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) since his serious injuries from the summer of 2022.

This was the major goal of the season for the former Beaujolais winemaker, who had to abandon the Hardrock 100 in Colorado in July (after 92 km), and who was skipping the UTMB. With this immense journey around the Aosta Valley in Italy, which began Sunday morning in Courmayeur, François D’Haene won the longest ultra race of his career.
