In England, a general practitioner admitted, Monday October 7, 2024, to having tried to kill his mother’s partner by injecting him with a fake Covid vaccine. Disguised as a nurse, he poisoned him with a flesh-eating toxin, reports The Guardian .

Incognito at his mother’s home

The 53-year-old doctor wanted to kill the 72-year-old so he could inherit his mother’s property when she died. A respected and experienced professional, he practiced in the English city of Sunderland.

The suspect had developed his plan for several months, before taking action on January 22, 2024, at his mother’s home. In November 2023, he wrote to his victim, informing the septuagenarian that he was a priority for a Covid vaccine booster at home, due to his age. He then went there disguised as a nurse, wearing a long gown, a cap, surgical gloves, a medical mask and tinted glasses. His mother didn’t suspect anything.

Several weeks in intensive care

When the doctor, incognito, carried out the injection, the septuagenarian screamed in pain. The fake nurse wanted to be reassuring about a possible mild reaction, before quickly leaving the scene. The pain did not stop. The next day, the victim, who had blisters and discoloration on his arm, went to the hospital. She suffered from necrotizing fasciitis, a flesh-eating disease. Part of his arm had to be cut off to prevent it from spreading. The man spent several weeks in intensive care.

Several chemicals were discovered in the doctor’s home, including arsenic, liquid mercury and highly toxic castor beans. He never revealed what type of poison he used on his mother’s partner. According to experts, it was probably an injection of iodomethane. In case of failure, the doctor had developed two other plans to attack the septuagenarian. Justice should sentence the fifty-year-old to a prison sentence. The judgment will be delivered on October 17.
