“You are bitter about having been fired”: Sarah Saldmann and Thierry Ardisson argue live around Cyril Hanouna in “C Médiatique”

The atmosphere was tense. This Sunday, October 20 in “C Médiatique” on 5, Thierry Ardisson was invited to react to information from “Parisien”. In an article published the day before, the daily ensures that Cyril Hanouna could leave the Canal+ group before the announced closure of C8 after Arcom’s decision not to renew the frequency of the channel. “When Vincent Bolloré fired me, it wasn’t that serious, but it put almost 100 people out of business”, commented the host and producer.

“Giving a political show to Cyril Hanouna is like giving a machine gun to a 12-year-old kid”

So here we are talking about 300 people…well, Bolloré doesn’t mind that” he added. Placed at his side, lawyer Sarah Saldmann, columnist for CNews and Europe 1, two media outlets under the management of the Breton billionaire, immediately reacted. “You can’t say that” she cuts him off. “Oh well, why? Are you Bolloré’s lawyer?”, retorts Thierry Ardisson. “Not at all, I never met him. But you can’t say that Bolloré doesn’t mind. You often say that there are no more stars, but Cyril Hanouna is a star”, she adds. “Yes, she’s a star, but dangerous”, he replies. “No, I don’t agree, he’s one of the only people in the PAF who gives everyone a voice”, defends the lawyer.

“Stop your bullshit. Giving a political show to Cyril Hanouna is like giving a machine gun to a 12-year-old kid. He has no culture”piques the host. “You do not have a monopoly on culture and you seem to despise the 2 million viewers who watch the show” replies Sarah Saldmann. “Yes, I absolutely despise them. I can despise 5 million if you want” admits Thierry Ardisson. “You have a fantastic career and that reflects a form of bitterness because you are angry with Cyril Hanouna. Each time you machine-gun Cyril Hanouna even though it is the allegory of success.” she adds.

The only idea he had was to put 4 assholes around a table”, retorts Thierry Ardisson again. “Stop talking about people like that!“, the columnist gets angry. “You work for the Bolloré group, well, keep it up! You have the Bolloré ideology, you are made to work there. It’s the far-right channel, CNews“, adds the host. “You’re so bitter about being fired that you say anything“, she tackles him again. “Well, we won’t agree with you”, announces presenter Mélanie Taravant to close the debate. Puremédias invites you to watch the sequence in the video above.

A little later in the program, while she was talking about her role as a columnist and her sometimes controversial opinions, the host brought it up again. “She defends Cyril Hanouna”he remarks. “He’s not my client. You see, every time you put a piece on Cyril Hanouna, you become obsessed with him. Every time you talk about him, you have an article, I wonder” she says. “But he doesn’t obsess me. The basis of the difference is that he took an immeasurable melon. But he never did anything.” “He created the star show…” she starts again. “Hitler was elected by popular vote”, replies the producer, before columnist François Saltiel takes control of the questions again. Asked to give his opinion on the columnist at the end of the show, Thierry Ardisson was nevertheless conciliatory: “I think you’re going to do very well in the media because we need people like that. At a time when everything is smooth, (…) someone who arrives and is cash, I have nothing to say about that, on the contrary!“.
