First there is Valleroy in Doubs. The second in Haute-Marne. Then ours, in Meurthe-et-Moselle and finally two others in the Vosges, Valleroy-aux-Saules and Valleroy-le-Sec.
If we were to classify the Valleroys according to their record, Valleroy du 54 would come first by its population, 2,335 inhabitants according to INSEE in 2021, and by its surface area, 12.3 km2. The smallest is in Doubs, with 3.1 km² and the least populated in Haute-Marne, 25 inhabitants, just a district of the Murthe-et-Mosellane locality.
And their little extra something?
Let's not be chauvinistic, our Valleroy does not outclass the others, with its old dovecote and its blue route along the Orne. The other Valleroys score nature points. For example, Valleroy-le-Sec, located 5 km from Vittel, is located on the pretty Monts Faucilles. Valleroy-aux-Saules can boast of having 148 hectares of forests and semi-natural environments, or 1/3 of its surface area. The same goes for the commune of Doubs where the green of the Onion valley predominates. As for the last Valleroy, perched 300 m south-east of the Langres plateau, it was a stronghold of the Templars!
