Sting postpones concerts and cancels performance “on advice from his doctor”

The singer was scheduled to perform no less than four shows this week. All have just been canceled or postponed for health reasons.

Sting goes to rest. The 73-year-old British singer announced this Wednesday, January 22, the cancellation of an appearance at an awards ceremony and the postponement of two concerts on his tour, all planned in the United States this week, for medical reasons. A press release was published on his Instagram account.

“On advice from his doctor, and due to illness, it is with sincere regret that Sting must cancel his appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday,” we read.

Sky News reports that the singer was due to perform at the Californian ceremony, where he is expected to receive a lifetime achievement award.

Postponed concerts

In addition, two shows from his tour Sting 3.0 are postponed. The concert scheduled in Phoenix this Friday, January 24 will finally take place on June 1, and the one in Wheatland (California) expected on Sunday, January 26 will take place on May 28.

Sting was also scheduled to give a concert this Saturday in Los Angeles for the 20th anniversary of the Cherrytree Company label. He will indeed perform in honor of the society, but on May 29.

“Sting sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and expresses his gratitude to fans for their understanding,” the statement concluded.

Sting is currently on a world tour which must pass through next fall, with a show at the Accor Arena in on October 9 then on the 11th at the Sud de France Arena in .
