Cindy Fabre, Miss France 2005, abruptly leaves her position as director of the Miss France competition. A mysterious and unexpected departure which raises many questions…
The announcement came like a hammer this Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Cindy Fabre, Miss France 2005 who held the position of director of the national competition since August 2022, is leaving her position “by mutual agreement with the Presidency of the competition” according to the information from Le Parisien, confirmed by a press release from the Miss France Committee in the morning. News that took everyone by surprise, including regulars, who are now wondering about the reasons for this sudden departure.
In the official press release, Frédéric Gilbert, the President of the Miss France company, thanked Cindy Fabre “for her support and collaboration during her last three years”. He stressed that it had “enabled us to ensure continuity and preserve the values of the competition” during his mandate. Carefully chosen words which, however, reveal nothing about the exact circumstances of this premature departure.
For her part, Cindy Fabre thanked “all the teams of the Miss France company, the delegates and the partners with whom she worked, as well as the Misses whom she had the honor of accompanying”. She also published a message on her Instagram account which says a little more. “It is with great emotion that I announce the end of my collaboration with the Miss France Society, after three intense and incredibly enriching years,” she wrote. She adds that she “put all (her) energy and (her) passion into this adventure, with the sincere desire to contribute to the evolution of the competition while preserving its identity and its values”.
“I would have loved to continue carrying out this mission”
The rest of Cindy Fabre’s message suggests that this departure was perhaps not entirely desired. “I would have loved to continue carrying out this mission that is so close to my heart, but sometimes, life invites us to rewrite our path,” she continues enigmatically. It’s hard not to see in it the expression of a certain bitterness.
-Because Cindy Fabre, very close to the emblematic Geneviève de Fontenay, only spent three years at the head of the competition. Appointed to this position to everyone’s surprise by Alexia Laroche-Joubert in 2022, she was in charge of organizing the competition at national level, but also of supporting the reigning Miss France during events in the region.
For Cindy Fabre, a simple contract not renewed
But according to information from Le Parisien, Cindy Fabre was only on a “service contract” and not an employee of the Miss France Committee. Contract which will not be renewed, without any official explanation being given. At 39 years old, the one who got married last July and who had never stopped her career as an event project manager on the side, will therefore have to turn the page sooner than expected.
Since the reorganization of the teams in 2022, the role of the competition director had evolved somewhat. Where Sylvie Tellier, the former “boss” of the Misses, systematically accompanied the beauty queens on each of their outings, the protocol has become more flexible. From now on, the last two Miss France to date, Ève Gilles and Angélique Angarni-Filopon, most often travel alone, thus gaining independence, indicates Le Parisien. So simple coincidence or cause and effect? The mystery remains.
The former Miss gave no indication of her future projects, contenting herself with mentioning “a new chapter” and “projects that deeply resemble (her)”. As for his succession, there again, the vagueness is total. Who will take up the torch and support the next Miss France who will be elected next December?
