During an interview with Télé 7 Jours magazine, host Karima Charni made some revelations behind the scenes of the Star Academy.
Karima Charni became known during season 4 of the Star Academy on TF1. The host has kept a link with the show, since since 2022, she has co-hosted the prime afterparty alongside Nikos Aliagas every Saturday evening and ensures the return by bus with the students. Since 2023, she has also been responsible for narrating daily newspapers. A role that takes up a lot of her time on top of everything she has to manage, as she explained in the magazine 7 Days TVavailable on newsstands since January 20, 2025.
“I spend time reenergizing the students”
“There are so many things that viewers don’t see!”she confided to our colleagues. “Behind the scenes, I spend time reenergizing the students and reassuring them. Besides, they have been calling me ‘Auntie’ for several years!” Karima Charni is full of praise for the 2024 class: “They are fantastic, invested and very different from last year’s candidates. I only discovered them the day before the first prime time, I had to create a bond with them. Of course, as adventure, I am even more attached to those who are at the end of the journey, but I talk a lot to those eliminated, like Maylis or Paul, whom I adore. We write to each other on social networks or they call me. if there is anything.” When the cameras are no longer rolling, the 39-year-old continues to interact with academics, for whom she has become a strong support.
Star Academy: Karima Charni already nostalgic before the final?
On Saturday January 25, 2025, the doors of the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys will close after more than 3 months of adventure. Obviously, Karima Charni is already a little nostalgic: “I see the bus emptying week after week, it’s the moment when we can all sit down! (Laughs) It’s the beginning of the end, the feelings are mixed. I’m proud of the students, but I always have a little pang in my heart when I have to part ways with teams.” Who, Marine or Ebony, will win the final? Only the public can decide!
