According to the comedian, being a cuckold is more of a “chance“to be a cuckold for two reasons:”When you discover that you are a cuckold, either you end your relationship with the person who was unfaithful to you and then you save time, or you tell yourself that it’s just a highway exit, that you’re moving on and you’re going to start a new story again.“
When did you realize you wanted to be a comedian?
“When I was little, the man who raised me, and whom I consider my father, always told funny stories. The people who came to us in good spirits always left with a smile thanks to him. That impressed me. I always thought he had a superpower! I wanted to do the same thing too much. I think it all started from there.“
Do you have any other role models in the field of humor?
“For me, the absolute master has always been Elie Kakou. Then, there were the Unknowns, Gad Elmaleh, Raymond Devos and Jamel Debbouzze. I have always preferred situational humor, which is more rhythmic, to punchlines even if I greatly admire those who do them.“
You are currently working on the series adaptation of your show. How will the latter be articulated?
“It will be made up of six episodes. The common thread will be the same with two characters who play infidelity but lots of different couples with fidelity problems who revolve around it. It will be sensually comic.”
We also find you every day in Tomorrow belongs to us on TF1. What was the impact of this soap opera on your life?
-“He changed my life in the encounters I was able to make thanks to him. Then, there is nothing to do, being on TF1 and La Une every evening, it propels you. A lot of people come to see my show because they want to see Bruno Paoletti (his character in DNA, Ed.) in real life. When I see people who stop me in the street and make me feel like I’m their friend, it makes me smile. I like this proximity. I always try to respond to messages sent to me.”
Les Enfoirés pay tribute to Michel Blanc, just like Hakim Jemili, actor in his latest film: “I miss him”
You are in a relationship with Aurore Delplace, a Belgian actress who can be found in Such a big sun. How do you experience playing in competing soap operas?
“There is no competition between us. Everyone works for a different channel but we are very happy.”
You released a duet called Our humor story. Is an album in the works?
“We come from musical theater, so we try to exploit everything we love and which is part of our training, such as singing and acting. We’ve wanted to sing together for a long time but we didn’t think that it was going to be such a hit. We are asking ourselves the question of making an album and, why not, going on tour with original songs and covers.
