On December 27, 2022, Le Parisien carried out an interview with Victor Wembanyama. In it, he explained the reason why he wears number 32 with the France team. “There’s a reference to Magic Johnson,” he admits. “With the Mets, I wear number 1 to be number 1, because that’s my mentality. I don’t want to leave anyone behind or put anyone down, but I want to be first, number 1. That’s clear “I know that when I say that, people think I’m arrogant, but those who think so don’t understand anything,” he says. A number that he kept at Spurs.
