Why did you choose the school theme for your new show?
“I was intrigued by all the news stories that we hear in the school environment. I asked myself what I could do at my level to defuse the problems, with a touch of lightness. For any comedian, the theme of school is blessed bread, because it brings together all generations and brings back memories for everyone, regardless of the level of education one has achieved. »
Why do you paint a portrait of the “New School” through your son’s experience?
“As a dad, I worry for my son when we hear about violence against teachers and school bullying. The foundation of a country is health and education, which are increasingly under attack. I take stock of the situation between the old and new schools, without judgment and always with a humorous tone. The funny thing is that no matter the age, we always find the schoolteacher with crazy glasses, the teacher who is jaded or a figure who has left an impression on us. »
What type of student was little Booder?
“I was a student who always settled for average with grades like eleven and a half. The teachers told me that I wasn’t doing enough, but I laughed with my classmates. This is where I cut my teeth, without knowing that I was going to make it my career. My first audience was in the neighborhood in the 10e district of Paris and at school. At the time, we did not have access to the world of art, theater, cinema, so we could not identify with models who told the daily life of the neighborhoods. I even thought that comedians on TV weren’t paid and that they clowned for fun (laughs). »
Why did you schedule a date in La Plagne?
“I’m on the team where I want to play everywhere. I could be content to do Zenith for three months and that’s it, but that’s not my style. I like climbing the mountain to play in a small venue. I still enjoy meeting my audience and exchanging memories and photos. Some come back four years later and the children they were have become adults. Arousing the interest of the viewer, regardless of their location, is already a success in itself.
“I don’t ski too much and for insurance reasons, I can’t take too many risks”
Is the mountain an environment that you know?
“So I don’t ski too much and for insurance reasons, I can’t take too many risks. I have already bought the socks, the gloves, the hat so I don’t die of cold. I can already imagine myself sunbathing on the terrace while observing the landscape, with my little tea. Laughter remains the best medicine to warm up. »
