Marie-Anne Chazel and Gérard Jugnot briefly spoke Monday evening during the opening ceremony of the Alpe d'Huez International Comedy Film Festival, which honored their comrade who died in October.
The actress made the audience laugh with a funny slip of the tongue which will remain in the memory of festival-goers.
French comedy would not be quite the same without them. The Splendid left its mark on a genre that could only celebrate the troupe on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. Guests of the 28th Alpe d'Huez Festival this Monday, January 13, Marie-Anne Chazel and Gérard Jugnot participated in the opening ceremony which presented a preview Les Tuches 5. A film dedicated to the memory of their comrade Michel Blanc. In the credits of the fourth part, the 72-year-old actor died suddenly after a heart attack in October.
Michel would have been extremely surprised, upset, embarrassed because he wasn't the type to like tributes
Marie-Anne Chazel
On stage, the two members of Splendid present in Isère did not lack the humor that characterizes them. Starting with Marie-Anne Chazel who began with a hilarious slip of the tongue which made her partner wince. “I think that Gérard, who was a very discreet, very reserved person…”she begins, speaking in the past tense… of her neighbor. “I’m not dead!”protests a smiling Gérard Jugnot in the sequence broadcast in “Bonjour! La Matinale TF1”.
“Michel would have been extremely surprised, upset, embarrassed because he was not the type to like tributes”continues Marie-Anne Chazel. “I think he would have been very touched because he hated the mountains, he hated skiing, he hated the sea, the countryside…”lists Gérard Jugnot with a joyful irony which provokes hilarity in the room. A totally offbeat homage that Michel Blanc would certainly have loved.
