Timothée Chalamet arrives on an electric bike on the red carpet in London, here’s the reason

CULTURE – Timothée Chalamet definitely does nothing like the others. On the occasion of the premiere of his latest film A Perfect Stranger in London this Tuesday, January 14, the Franco-American actor arrived on the red carpet with an electric bike from the British capital. And there is a very specific reason.

As you can see in the videos and videos below, Timothée Chalamet paraded through the streets of London dressed in an anthracite suit from the Martine Rose brand. The electric bike was a green self-service Lime. Music I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas also resonates. This song was used in a live (a little strange) that the actor did on Instagram at the beginning of January.

As the magazine points out W, the use of an electric bicycle may be a reference to the 1965 concert of Bob Dylan, an artist whose life is chronicled in A complete stranger. That year, at the Newport Folk Festival, the folk singer swapped his acoustic guitar for an electric guitar, a first.

No Golden Globe, in the race for the Oscars

This transition to electric is documented in the film which is released on January 29 in cinemas in France. But at the time, Bob Dylan’s decision was not welcomed by all fans, some even seeing it as a betrayal.

For his part, Timothée Chalamet was welcomed like a rock star in London. After his arrival on the red carpet in front of the BFI Southbank, he, like any average user, used his phone to end the rental of the two-wheeler.

The actor was nominated in the best actor category at the Golden Globes for his role in this Bob Dylan biopic. It’s ultimately Adrien Brody in The Brutalist who won the statuette. Timothée Chalamet is nevertheless still in the running in this same category for the Oscars, the announcement of the nominations of which was postponed due to the fires in Los Angeles.
