Woman scammed by a fake Brad Pitt: from Toulouse football club to Netflix, how they publicly mock the victim

Anne, a 53-year-old interior designer, testified in Seven to Eight on TF1 this Sunday, January 12, 2025. She says she was the victim of a huge scam on social networks: a scammer took 830,000 euros from her by pretending to be Brad Pitt in love with her.

The report from “Sept à quatre” is definitely causing a lot of talk. Named Anne and filmed on camera, the victim, aged around fifty, says she paid 830,000 euros to crooks who pretended to be Brad Pitt by sending him false selfies, falsified identity documents and using to artificial intelligence to dispel his doubts.

Pretending to need money to pay for an operation for kidney cancer, the fake Brad Pitt managed to extract large sums from this woman, who is now ruined and has made three suicide attempts. According to the report from “Sept à Huit”, she filed a complaint and is currently hospitalized in an establishment specializing in serious depression.

The sequence was removed from all platforms due to the wave of cyberharassment to which Anne was the victim. Among Internet users mocking his supposed gullibility, the football club and Netflix are particularly singled out.

TFC’s apologies

The TFC thus posted a message on “Hello Anne, Brad told us that he will be at the Stadium on Wednesday for #TFCLAVAL. And you?“.

Under fire from critics, the L1 club then backtracked by presenting its “sincere apologies”.

We understand that our tweet may have been misinterpreted, and we sincerely apologize. We deeply regret if our comments may have conveyed a negative message.
