Jennifer Garner continued by confiding that she felt “almost guilty” for still being able to “walk in (her) house.” So the star does everything she can to help her neighbors in need, including supporting members of the World Central Kitchen association, as she did in the Altadena neighborhood on January 10.
“I’ve lived in Palisades and the surrounding area for 25 years, so I think we all want to pitch in in some way to be helpful. And through my work with Save The Children, we have a relationship with the chef [José Andrés, le fondateur de la World Central Kitchen, NDLR]and I was able to just say, ‘Can I be with you for the day? What can I do to help you? Put me to work’”.
Other American stars have mobilized in recent days, notably Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who also joined the World Central Kitchen volunteers on Friday. For his part, Michael Douglas launched a call for solidarity on Instagram on Saturday. The actor may not have been affected by the fires, but he deplored a “nightmare tragedy” and mobilized the Douglas Foundation created by his father Kirk for a donation to the American Red Cross.
Because she saw her Malibu house reduced to ashes, Paris Hilton – among others – continues to relay on her social networks the names of the different organizations mobilized on the ground and which need support.
