Asked by The Sunday TribuneLaurence Arné made some revelations about her past and in particular her beginnings in the world of modeling.
Currently playing the play Mure Wall at the Michodière theater, Laurence Arné gave an interview to the newspaper The Sunday Tribune. During this interview, the one who fell in love with Dany Boon at work made some confidences about her personal life, such as her childhood where she was “very happy with two big sisters and a mother with a very strong character.” Faced with them, Laurence Arné admitted not having had a strong enough character to impose himself. Marked by this moment when she had to raise her finger at the table to be listened to, the actress and comedian was able to transform this shyness and lack of confidence into strength.
Laurence Arné remembers her first photo shoot
In the columns of The Sunday TribuneRaphaël’s mother also revealed that she was immersed in Dutch culture through her mother and English culture through her grandmother. “If we were not in an intellectual education, we still grew up with very strong values which still serve me today”she declared before specifying: “Independence, work… I did a little modeling in Angoulême but it really wasn’t for me because my image escaped me a little. Recently, I came across photos of my first session. I still found myself topless at 14, with my back in the photographer’s studio. And what’s crazy is that my mother had no awareness of the potential danger in leaving me alone with an adult.“
Laurence Arné’s grandparents shocked by these photos, “They were right”
Back home, Laurence Arné did not feel the need to talk to her mother about it. But if the latter loved the photos, her grandparents were offended when they discovered them. “I realize that they were the ones who were right to be shocked, because frankly, the photos were really creepy”she revealed before continuing: “I was lucky to have this strength of character, this survival instinct to say ‘stop, enough is enough’. Which was not the case for other models my age who were still too innocent to see evil and suspected nothing while following the photographers into isolated rooms. It takes courage to say no to an adult!“
