More than a year after the sudden death of Matthew Perry, the emotion is still palpable and memories and other anecdotes continue to emerge or come to the surface. For Lisa Kudrow, who was recently a guest on comedian and host Drew Barrymore’s podcast, it was a story about a cookie jar that allowed her to discover a little secret… that touched her right in the heart.

This cookie jar full of surprises is this decorative element from the series which was featured in Monica’s kitchen (as you can see in the photo at the bottom of the article). When the cult series Friends ends in 2004, Matthew Perry offers the container in question to Lisa Kudrow. The latter has since carefully preserved it and even installed it in the office of her home (as you can see in the photo illustrating this article). Until then, a touching anecdote but without being exceptional. Where it touches the sublime is that the ex-interpreter of Phoebe revealed to Drew Barrymore what it contained: “Matthew gave it to me at the end of the very last episode. I recently discovered the letter he left for me inside. I never opened it or even looked inside. He placed it inside one word and I had totally forgotten it… Timing is everything.” Unsurprisingly, Lisa Kudrow, out of modesty and respect for her deceased friend, preferred to keep the content of this letter secret.

In another register, David Schwimmer, alias Ross in Friendsrecently addressed the serious injury suffered by Matt LeBlanc on the set of the episode The One with the Hug Technique (Season 3, episode 3): “During recording, [Matt LeBlanc] had to fall and he dislocated his shoulder. He instantly turned white, he stood up and I could see his shoulder completely displaced. He was about to faint,” he first recounts, before remembering his reaction, “[Je me suis] immediately turned towards the camera asking ‘Cut, cut, cut’.
