There are too many people who love you, I live for her, You love her… These are the many songs that have made Hélène Ségara an essential singer in the French musical repertoire. Throughout his career and his numerous projects, including his well-known participation in the musical Notre-Dame de Paris, the star has captured the hearts of millions of French people.
For several years, the singer has been facing health problems. Indeed, she suffers from a rare eye disease that causes muscle degeneration and is irreversible. “We were able to save one of my eyes, but I lost an eye (…) I see you, thanks to this treatment which stabilized me, but I almost was in the dark,” declared the singer in the show What an era! in 2023. If the star finds comfort with his fans in this difficult time, she can also count on her loved ones, including her three children. Who are they?
Hélène Ségara: her rare confidences about her children
In 1990, the singer became a mother for the first time to a boy named Raphael. The latter, now 34 years old, “works in catering”, she declared to our colleagues Gala. Hélène Ségara is also the mother of two young adults, Maya et Matteoborn from his marriage with the musician Mathieu Lecat. His son is “studying medicine in the United States” while his daughter is “pursuing a course in psychology in Canada”.
His three children gradually took flight from the family nest. A situation which has not always been easy for the artist. “Estrangement is not always easy to live with. But no parent is eternal, so, I feel a certain satisfaction, a certain relief in seeing them become independent“, she told Gala and added: “The most important thing for a mother is to leave behind strong children who feel good about themselves.”
