“It seems impossible to me”: Benoît bursts into tears as he joins the top 3 of the best maestros of “Don’t forget the lyrics!” on France 2

Benoît continues his ascent to the summits. Arriving at the beginning of December on the set of “Don’t forget the words!”, this independent photographer crossed the thresholds one after the other until joining the top 3 of the greatest entertainment maestros of 2. milestone reached on Wednesday January 8 after securing a 61st consecutive victory and increasing his prize pool to 426,000 euros. The native of Maine-et- could not contain his emotion. “Tears of joy! You are behind Margaux, behind Laurens, but in front of all the other maestros”, commented Nagui, impressed by the candidate’s mastery. “It’s crazy! Everything seems impossible when you arrive here. We are afraid. Even there, it seems impossible to me to be top 3 on a show that is 17 years old, or even older.” confided Benoît, in tears.

“Two years of hard work”

A fan of the show, the holder of a ticket for the Masters had failed to grab the silver microphone during his first attempt, and had promised himself to try his luck again, more armed. He therefore set out to perfect his musical repertoire by revising more than 1,100 songs, and even involving those close to him. Intensive preparation which bears fruit, even if the candidate does not yet understand the scale of his feat. “I didn’t expect it at all. I burst into tears on set. In fact, I released all the pressure by entering the podium“, he reacted to our colleagues at “ Actu” as soon as his last performance was validated. And added, euphorically: “It’s crazy, I still have a hard time realizing it honestly. It’s the consecration of two years of hard work so obviously it’s only joy.”

His next objective will be to overtake Laurens, whose final prize pool is not much higher than his (457,000 euros against 426,000). The record of “Queen Margaux” is more difficult to achieve, but Benoît, on his formidable momentum, refuses nothing. He even intends to beat the number of consecutive successes held by Louis with 65 victories, just to leave an indelible mark on the show. In any case, the maestro has already won the hearts of viewers with more than 3 million followers who vibrate every evening to the sound of his voice.
