DEATH – Unimaginable shock and pain. The remains of director Jeff Baena, 47, were found lifeless in his Los Angeles home after he killed himself. The filmmaker has been married since 2021 to actress Aubrey Plaza, seen among others in the series White Lotus or Agatha All Along.
Silent since the announcement of this tragedy, the actress spoke in a press release sent Monday January 6 to the magazine People. “This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered their support. “Please respect our privacy during this time”she asks. Jeff Baena’s family also asked that his privacy be respected following the announcement of his death, indicates Deadline.
Aubrey Plaza was scheduled to attend the Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday to present an award. An invitation that she obviously declined. The actress and the director met in 2011, according to People. They have collaborated on projects numerous times, most recently in 2022 for Spin Me Round.
« I would say it’s an incredible experience to work with your partner in this way. I’ve been working with Jeff since his first film. I saw him evolve and I saw him grow. It’s a really special dynamic that we have. It’s sometimes a challenge, but it’s also very rewarding to do something together.”said Aubrey Plaza to MovieFreak.com in 2017 during the promotion of The Good Sisters.
-We owe in particular to Jeff Baena, who had already spoken about mental health problems within his family, the film J’adore Huckabeesreleased in 2004 in the United States, and in which we could find Isabelle Huppert and Dustin Hoffman.
Several personalities have paid tribute to the filmmaker since Sunday, including actress Alison Brie and Selma Blair.
