The 81-year-old actor spoke about his daily life with his 19-month-old daughter Gia in an interview with Times on Saturday January 4. “I get up early,” he explained. I have a 19 month old baby. I spend my mornings watching »Ms Rachel« (a YouTube channel for young children, Editor’s note) with her, and I give her her bottle.” However, he confessed that he doesn’t bother changing diapers: “I did it in the past, but not anymore.”
Father of seven, Robert De Niro said he was “doing his best” as patriarch. “Family is so complicated. I just hope they are happy.” If the interpreter of Taxi Driver hopes he was a good father, he said he doesn’t know how his children would describe him: “Oh my God, they would all have a different answer.”

A large blended family
Robert De Niro is the head of a family of seven children: Drena, 56, and Raphael, 47, whom he had with his ex-wife Diahnne Abbott; the twins Julian and Aaron, 28 years old, born from his union with Toukie Smith; and Elliot, 25, and Helen Grace, 12, from his marriage to Grace Hightower.
In 2023, Robert De Niro and his partner Tiffany Chen welcomed Gia. “He’s such an adorable baby. So cute,” he said in an interview with the magazine People in February 2024. “When I look at her, everything else disappears. So it’s a great joy and a great relief to just be with her in the moment. All my other children love Gia. Even my grandchildren.” The youngest of the De Niro clan seems to make all the family members happy.
