Sportsman-turned-host Étienne Boulay highlights his eight years of sobriety with a publication showing him under the Mexican sun with his family.
“Eight years of sobriety today. If I’m capable, so are you. What a privilege to experience this day with my family,” wrote Étienne Boulay on his Facebook page.
“There are resources available if you are suffering. Here are two that helped me: Maison Jean Lapointe in Montreal: 514 288-2611, Villa Ignatia in Quebec: 418 849-6534,” specifies the former Montreal Alouettes player.
His photos show him with a sheet in his hands on which it is written “8 years”. We also see him surrounded by his partner of 12 years, Maïka Desnoyers, their children and his own parents.
The 41-year-old host also highlighted his 12 years of love with his partner in an Instagram publication on Sunday.
“Twelve years today! Children, projects, a team that has experienced one, maybe two storms. I love you, Maïka Desnoyers! Thank you for being a partner so extraordinary,” he wrote.
Étienne Boulay, who is also a speaker, has often spoken openly about his years of addiction to alcohol and drugs and his numerous therapies and relapses, notably on his podcast Chill at Boulay.
