On December 6, Pascal Bataille was diagnosed with lung cancer. And one day soon, we must also be able to say that for Charcot’s disease, so help us to fund research!”he declared, while specifying that he had been fighting against the disease since “2-3 months”.
An important operation
This Monday, January 6, the 64-year-old presenter revealed a new stage in his fight, indicates Here is : he must undergo major surgery.
“The operation consists of removing a piece of lung, in this case the right lung, he explained in the show Chez Jordan. The surgeon will see by opening exactly, but a priori, they will remove two lobes of my right lung. I will therefore have a small part of my lung left which will continue to function. It is a major operation, obviously, which is not without risks, like any operation. And there, even more when they open your chest. It’s not trivial, but I go into it with a lot of confidence, because I know that I am being operated on by extremely competent and gifted people, and that it is an operation that is still common.”
A long convalescence
Pascal Bataille also knows that a long convalescence awaits him after the operation. “A somewhat difficult month of convalescence” is to be expected, he confided.
“There is a pain management problem, because it is quite painful. Afterwards, I hope that it will only be a bad memory and that there will be monitoring to be done, because the one of the vices of cancer is wanting to come back regularly. But I think I’ll be back on my feet at the beginning of February. In any case, that’s what I’ve set in mind.”he said.
