In May 2023, Jean Imbert set down his bags in Cannes to take over the reins of the Plage du Martinez. A year later, he inaugurated with great fanfare the Palme d’Orthe prestigious gourmet restaurant of the emblematic Croisette hotel.

And what better baptism than the jury dinner of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, chaired by Greta Gerwig? New menu, new concept… The chef, revealed to the general public in 2012 by winning the third season of Top Chef, wasted no time in revolutionizing the place.

But Jean Imbert doesn’t plan to stop there! In March 2025, during Mipim (International Market for Real Estate Professionals), he will unveil his latest project: the Martinez Bar, the result of a new collaboration with designer Rémi Tessier. Located just below La Palme d’Or, with a breathtaking view of the Croisette, this space, closed since 2023, is currently undergoing a complete metamorphosis.

The menu, the details of which still remain confidential, promises to live up to the chef’s creativity!

The first woman appointed president of the Cannes Film Festival in July 2022, Iris Knobloch, 61, necessarily occupies a special position in the world of the seventh art. Being the patron of the biggest film festival in the world is no small thing. A position so sacred for the one who followed “FIF” behind the scenes for a long time as director of the European branch of Warner.

For this businesswoman of German origin, elegant in all circumstances, 2025 is synonymous with the 78th edition of the Festival, in tandem with Thierry Frémaux, director of the Festival, with, inevitably, in focus, the 80th edition which will take place in 2027. Highly anticipated, the 2025 edition will open on May 13 and close on May 24 on the Croisette and should soon reveal its first secrets. Asked, last May, about the place of women in cinema while the MeToo movement is gaining importance, the president confessed that despite the low proportion of female directors in the selection (23%), an evolution was underway: “Women are starting to dare, to have confidence in themselves and we are entrusting them with projects. Even if we have to remain vigilant… Because despite the success of “Barbie”, most of the big budgets are allocated to men. There’s still work to do! »

And to achieve this, the director is not idle, in an establishment in perpetual evolution. After the opening of a local medical-judicial unit and the demolition of the historic psychiatry building last year, the hospital is continuing its transformation with the reconstruction of the psychiatry sector, which will be equipped with 97 additional beds since it will recover the sectors of Cagnes-sur-Mer and Puget-Théniers. A 35 million euro project!
