Meghan back on Netflix: Mindy Kaling, Abigail Spencer… who are the Duchess of Sussex’s friends?

This is a project that has been simmering for several months. Last April, the Sussexes were seen accompanied by Netflix teams to produce new content for the platform. This time, no settling of scores with the British royal family, but two documentary series focused on their passions. Prince Harry will take viewers behind the scenes of the very closed world of polo, while Meghan will open the doors to her kitchen. Well, not really.

While she made her big return to social networks on January 1, 2025, with an Instagram account simply titled “Meghan”, the Duchess of Sussex immediately published the trailer for With Love, Meghan – a mini-series which will be broadcast on Netflix from January 15. In the shared extract, we can see her busy behind the stove in a kitchen that is not hers. For the purposes of filming, Meghan preferred this time to stage herself in a house a few meters from her villa in Montecito. Practical for the guests, who therefore did not have too much difficulty finding the address.

Meghan’s very closed circle in Los Angeles

And many of them took turns to get their hands dirty. As she did for her podcast ArchetypesMeghan invited a few close friends to join her in front of the camera. In the trailer, Mindy Kaling claims to be experiencing one of the most “glamorous” moments of her life by discovering a slice of Victoria Sponge Cake. The actress, a producer and screenwriter of Indian origin, is one of the famous friends of Prince Harry’s wife, who has always followed her in all her projects. Known for her work in the series The Office – for which she has multiplied the hats, the interpreter of Kelly Kapoor has also been at the head of her own program, The Mindy Project.

Suits cast reunites in Meghan’s documentary series

Mindy Kaling is not the only small screen star to support Meghan. Fans of Suits – the series which revealed the Duchess of Sussex to the general public -, will recognize Abigail Spencer. From 2011 to 2019, she played the character of Dana Scott. If the mother of Archie and Lilibet gave up her acting career after her marriage to Harry, she always kept a link with her former partners. Abigail Spencer – that series fans find in particular in Grey’s Anatomy – was present at the wedding ceremony organized in Windsor in May 2018, she also appeared in the documentary Harry & Meghan. And she is one of the privileged to have received her pot of American Riviera Orchard jam, the Duchess of Sussex’s brand.

Meghan Markle also invited Delfina Blaquier, the wife of Nacho Figueras – the polo player who is a great friend of Prince Harry. Her makeup artist Daniel Martin – who has worked with her for around ten years – will also be there, as will her best friend Kelly McKee Zajfen. It was alongside the model and businesswoman that the Duchess of Sussex made her first appearance without her husband in Los Angeles last September. Literary agents, a film producer, a multimillionaire neighbor complete the cast. Show ahead!
