Stéphane Plaza: He tries everything for everything

This time, he won't cut it. This Thursday, January 9, Stéphane Plaza has a meeting with the law and he will not be able to escape it.

Remember, last August 28, the 54-year-old host was to appear before the 10th chamber of the Criminal Courtfor acts of “habitual physical and psychological violence” against two former partners, which allegedly occurred between 2018 and 2022.

The plaintiffs were indeed present on the said day, but to everyone's surprise, Stéphane Plaza did not come. In front of the dozens of journalists who were swarming around at the time, his lawyer, Hélène Plumet, assured that he had done everything to comebut that his worrying psychological state had prevented him from doing so.

According to a medical report provided to the courts, the fifty-year-old suffered from “significant psychological manifestations against a background of severe depressive symptoms: massive anxiety, dark thoughts, sleep disorders”. Hospitalization was even considered.

Four months later, has the former M6 audience champion got back on track?

In any case, he seems ready to face his responsibilities and has even spoken publicly for the first time in months! On Instagram, he shared a story on December 26. “Today, I am exceptionally taking up my pen to send you a little word,” begins the host, in a message soberly written in white on a black background. “I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unwavering support throughout this year. It was difficult, but, thanks to you, I’m still standing”he adds.

Stéphane Plaza then expresses his gratitude to the relatives and friends who, in the turmoil, did not let him down, without mentioning any in particular. It must be said that apart from Karine Le Marchand, Jeanfi Janssens, Laurent Ruquier and Cristina Córdula, few stepped up to support him… As for his silence for months? It “can resonate and challenge”, he concedes, but it would have been “necessary to allow justice to do its work”.

Total confidence in justice

Stéphane Plaza

“He had wanted to speak out for weeks, but we advised him against it,” whispers a well-informed source. “But the approach to the trial inevitably turns it around.” The real estate agent, who denies the alleged factshowever, swears: he has “total confidence in justice”.

Not sure, however, that his absence in August worked in his favor in the eyes of the magistrates… IIt must be said that he had only warned the day before that he would not appear in courtand the president did not hesitate to point this out just before the hearing was postponed.

Anyway, the presenter of House for sale, faces a sentence of ten years in prison and a fine of up to 150,000 euros if found guilty. More alone than ever, he could no longer really rely on his television employer, who has not ordered any programs from him lately.

“His days on the channel would be numbered,” we were told at the end of the summer. The outcome of the trial could therefore also sign its future on M6. “I will never forget your love and kindness,” he concluded on December 26 on Instagram. It remains to be seen whether justice will be as lenient.
