So far, the eldest daughter of the Maxima reigns a you roi Willem-Alexander had systematically retroceded the royal allowance to which she was entitled since she came of age. Amalia from the Netherlands notably issued a press release to explain this choice. “I’m uncomfortable as long as I can’t offer much in return, while other students are having a much harder time, especially in these uncertain coronavirus times,” she declared. The sum in question amounts to 1.8 million euros which includes 322,000 euros of personal salary and 1.5 million euros provision for expenses. It is this second sum that the princess decided to grant herself this year. She made the request last May by sending a handwritten letter to Mark Ruttethen Prime Minister of the Netherlands. “Over time and due to unexpected circumstances, it is now possible that I will have to take into account personnel and material expenses”, she had justified for her safety. As for her salary as an heiress, she should not receive it throughout her studies unless other circumstances require her to do so.
