On the occasion of the release of his anniversary album, Marc Lavoine looks back on the highlights of his career, on France info. The artist thus gives a cash opinion on the Victoires de la musique.
The reception seems to be unanimous. Last October, Marc Lavoine released an anniversary album entitled Revolver where he reinterpreted the greatest hits of his career in symphonic version. As a bonus, fans have the pleasure of discovering some new songs. The singer who refuses to be part of the Star 80 tour will soon be on stage throughout France, from April 24 to June 14. During his career, the artist never stopped singing after the crazy success of his title She has gun eyesreleased in 1985. He even allowed himself the luxury of acting in the cinema; one of his first jobs before singing. The artist has therefore never left the world of music and despite his 14 albums, he has received very little reward from music professionals. Distinctions which he does not miss.
“It doesn’t matter to me.”confides Marc Lavoine on the rewards
“Moi, I'm not someone who looks for compliments, but when someone loves you, it's better. It's not at all a criticism, but I'm not talking about the Victoires de la Musique, all that, the Césars, the Molières. It doesn't matter to me.”explains Marc Lavoine in the show Elodie's world on France info. “It's probably nice to have it, but I don't like it. I don't like having something that says I'm the best actor or the best singer. This is completely ridiculous. But compliments, not to show off in front of my gold records, looking at myself in the mirror and taking me for an actor or a singer”confides the artist.
Has Marc Lavoine been rewarded during his career?
In 1986, Marc Lavoine won the Raoul-Breton prize from SACEM for his album Marc Lavoine. Ten years later, he is crowned with a Victoire de la musique in the video clip category for This is France. His convictions not going in the direction of the ceremony, Marc Lavoine has since asked to be “crossed off the guest list” of the ceremony. But he's not the only one who has such a harsh opinion about these awards shows. Matt Pokora regularly criticizes this ceremony, which does not take into account the opinion of the public.
