Life has been challenging the British royal family lately, and Prince William and Kate Middleton in particular. No, not only did King Charles III reveal that he had cancer, but a few weeks later, it was the Princess of Wales’ turn to reveal her illness. While she recently shared some big news about her health, there’s still a long way to go before she can finally claim victory. In addition to the illness, Kate and William have had to deal with the frosty relationship they have with Prince Harry with whom they have nevertheless been so close in the past.

All these hazards of life sometimes make us question things. And they have visibly had an impact on the way Kate Middleton and Prince William envisage the future, especially concerning their children. A report recently revealed by the site Daily Beast highlights the plans of the Prince and Princess of Wales for their offspring. If the destiny of Prince George, future King of England after his father, is all mapped out, that of Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte remains a huge mystery.

Prince William, once on the throne, intends to dust off the functioning of the British monarchy. And among the actions and changes he intends to put in place, there is that of letting Charlotte and Louis decide what they want to do as soon as they can serve the British monarchy. If until now, the members of the Windsors did not really have the choice to take part in royal obligations, this could well change with the arrival of William on the throne. In other words, Charlotte and Prince Louis will have the freedom to choose whether or not to become working members of the royal family.

A change that could bring them closer to Prince Harry

Charlotte and Louis could therefore never work for the royal family if they decide to. It is still too early to know the answer but one thing is certain, this novelty, if it really is implemented, should satisfy Prince Harry who has never ceased to point out the pressures exerted by the status of crowned head via media exposure.

While the world has already seen the faces of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s children, they make a point of not exposing them too often. That’s why they’re not always with them when they travel. Kate and William’s goal today is to to preserve their children as much as possible and their mental health, a hobby horse shared with Prince Harry despite the big differences that have arisen between them in recent years.

A source close to Kate and William said the decision was well thought out and reflected their desire to make their children happy: “If you look closely at the successful secondary members of the family, you only have Edward and Anne. Margaret’s life was pretty miserable. Harry, we know all about it. I’m sure William and Catherine don’t want history to repeat itself.“The future will tell us.
