A little of Emily in Parisa zest of The Crown. This should make royal fans salivate while waiting for the release of Royal Spina series project adapted from a novel — as yet unpublished — on which Omid Scobie, biographer of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is working. As Point of view already explained this summer, the British journalist, known to be close to Meghan and Harry, is in the process of writing a fiction. The plot? A young American arrives at the communications department of Buckingham Palace to help the Windsors improve their image and very quickly confronts the cultural differences between British and Americans. A story which is reminiscent of the arrival of the Duchess of Sussex within the Firm, even if the author denies any resemblance.
Alongside the novel, Universal Studios is already working on the television version. And signed a “7-figure” check to acquire the rights, the Mail on Sunday. The scenario already seems well advanced, work carried out in collaboration with the popess of the series, Emily Fox, specifies Deadline. Those who had access to the project confirm the connection between Meghan's profile and that of the future heroine. “You just have to substitute the word 'actress' for the word 'communicator', specifies a source in the British tabloid. The main character is a modern, feminist woman… But that is how Meghan has always defined herself. However, she gets blocked by royal advisors who smell of mothballs.”
The only difference, insists Mail on Sunday : in this fiction, the American wins her bet. “She wins the hearts of everyone she meets and triumphs over the upholders of the established order.” Far, far from the truth.
