Seven young people from the Saint-Germain-du-Plain leisure center, directed by Roland De Freitas, and seven elders from the commune, accompanied by Jean-Marc Degrange, facilitator at the Terres de Bresse community of communes, met during eight sessions to make a short film. Supervised by Alain Letessier and Thierry Museur, professional actors, they met at the village hall for the filming.

The creative process

“At first, they didn’t know each other. But over the course of the meetings, links were created. With them, we carried out creative work by writing a scenario. The little room of secrets will be the title of this little film. Every year, at the autumn equinox, the oldest people in a commune had the habit of revealing their family secrets to the youngest. This time, these secrets will be more terrible, stranger. In addition, the young people will go behind the camera and do sound recordings, like in the cinema,” confides Thierry, director.

Participant testimonials

“At first, I wondered what adventure I had embarked on. I didn't quite understand how much this could bother us. But session after session, the flow went very well with all the children. It was great,” emphasizes Maryse. For her part, young Elina, who teams up with her, is delighted. “It’s nice to meet people who could be our grandmother. I like cinema, and when I tell my friends about it, it's great. »

▶ The film will be screened at the Saint-Germain-du-Plain village hall on January 22 at 2:30 p.m.
