Miss Lorraine’s regional outfit sparked many reactions on social networks during the ceremony Miss France broadcast on TF1 on Saturday December 14.
An outfit worn backwards
Many Internet users have mocked the costume, comparing it to an outfit from Buzz Lightyear, the Avengers or even Power Rangers.
Faced with these criticisms, the creator of the outfit, Wesley Forstinger took the floor to explain the situation. According to him, the costume was not worn correctly by Miss Lorraine, which would have contributed to the unexpected effect and the mockery that followed.
“Anyway, here’s what this costume should have looked like… UPDATE: I had the committee, the costume designer ended a lot of people on the phone, the costume is fine, it “JUST” was put on backwards… that’s it in all this bad there is some positive, we are going to do a communication around this soon with them it should get better” he wrote on Facebook a few days ago with photos of the outfit correctly put on a mannequin. He added to our colleagues from Republican Lorraine this Tuesday, December 17: “The back was in front. The cape was not attached correctly and was not in the intended shape. And the crown was installed haphazardly“, he said. He also explained to our colleagues from Republican Lorraine : “This costume had lots of symbols everywhere. But in the end, it all no longer made sense. Everyone who accompanied me on this adventure is disgusted but since then, I have also had a great outpouring of support. They want to fix it all“.
The creator of the costume was questioned by our colleagues from Lorraine News on December 3 to give some clues about the outfit. “The costume is truly unique in every way. In my opinion, it will be spectacular.” he said, revealing that some references to Lorraine would obviously be scattered throughout Miss Lorraine’s costume. Wesley Forstinger, originally from Lorraine, was a costume designer for cinema, entertainment and video games, as our colleagues recalled of Lorraine News. Still according to them, it was in the Organic Creative Studio, located in a 140 m² premises in Jarny, that Miss Lorraine’s costume was made.
An evening which crowned a Miss over 30 years old
During this exceptional evening, two Misses competed in the final: Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Miss Martinique. It was ultimately the latter, Angélique Angarni-Filopon, who won the competition. She thus becomes the first Miss to be elected over 30 years old since she is 34 years old.
