In a relationship with Paul Belmondo for 34 long years, Luana Belmondo and the son of Jean-Paul Belmondo are separated earlier this year. During this union, the culinary columnist was able to rub shoulders closely with the sacred monster of French cinema until his death at the age of 88 on September 6, 2021. Tuesday December 17, 2024, Luana Belmondo rightly remembered a memory involving Jean-Paul Belmondo’s mother, by sharing a video in the story of his Instagram account (see our slideshow). It was in fact an extract from the cult TF1 show, Quite an eveningduring which Jean Paul Belmondo was present alongside Jean-Pierre Foucault. The actor’s mother, baptized Madeleine, was also present on the setjust like Paul and Luana Belmondo. In this famous extract, the host of the program is questioning Jean-Paul Belmondo’s mother about the actor’s childhood.
“When you are a parent, you always imagine the future of your children. Do you remember what you wanted Jean-Paul to become?“, Jean-Pierre Foucault asked him in particular. “I don’t really know because he didn’t seem to have the capacity for much“, replied Jean-Paul Belmondo’s mother, which made her son burst out laughing. “But very young, he still had qualities. At home, you could tell he loved comedy. He made you laugh“, still insisted on emphasizing the host to defend his evening guest. “He broke a lot of things. He was very daredevil. When he went to class, it was more to fight than to work. Apart from that, he was a charming, adorable, very affectionate and really full of qualities, but not those we expected“, Madeleine replied, once again provoking laughter from her son. “Thank you for this beautiful memory. Luana Belmondo: her comments on her separation from Paul Belmondo forced the father of her children to react
For the record, Paul Belmondo’s former partner spoke at length about their separation in the columns of the magazine Paris Match. “I am in shock, in distress. I’m not angry, I’m just heartbroken. Many things come back to my memory that I surely preferred to hide out of love. If this woman hadn’t come into his life, he would still be here. My husband and I formed a close couple and, like everyone else, we experienced ups and downs, more difficult times.”she declared in particular. Words which pushed Jean-Paul Belmondo’s son to react. “I discovered in Paris Match an interview with my wife Luana seriously questioning me. Not having been contacted before the publication of the article, I made the difficult choice to express myself in complete transparency on the situation. Like thousands of French people, I currently live a separation from my wife that I intend to approach in a dignified and peaceful manner. After 34 years of shared happiness together, we have indeed made the decision to continue our journeys separately. We both had wonderful times, then with our three sons and now with our grandson.”he then wrote in a press release.
