Now 49 years old, Shelton Benjamin has worked his way around wherever a wrestling ring has come his way. From WWE to Japan to the independent circuit, our man has done almost everything. He has now been in AEW since October 2 and his long career has not prevented him from dreading his debut in Tony Khan's federation.
Benjamin was on the podcast AEW Unrestricted and he took the opportunity to elaborate on the subject:
“I've had a long wrestling career but even today, as soon as someone recognizes me in the street, I'm really flattered. So to have been so well received by the AEW audience, coming from WWE, it really made me super happy.
I wasn't reassured about the reaction I was going to receive at AEWbut the fans have continued to support me all these years, and the best way to describe it is that it warmed my heart. I loved it and could watch my debut over and over again!”
A central member of the Hurt Syndicate alongside MVP and Bobby Lashley, we will see what the future and AEW holds for Shelton Benjamin in the coming months.
