The French actress gave an interview to the show Grand Ecran, broadcast on November 1st. She talks in particular about her relationship with fame and her friendships with American stars such as Angelina Jolie.

The French actress and director spoke about her relationship with fame, in France and across the Atlantic, where she also made a name for herself. “No one recognizes me in the street, I take the metro every day,” she confided about her life in France.

The luxury of anonymity
Anonymity, a luxury that Hollywood stars do not know, according to her. “When I went to make films in the United States, I saw a bit of the nightmare of certain actors,” confides Mélanie Laurent. They don't come to the restaurant with us, they don't go to eat an ice cream in quiet Italy, there are only bodyguards, only hotels, life no longer exists, it becomes a bubble. Me, in countries all over the world, I go to museums, I walk around all day, no one recognizes me. At the same time, you can’t say that I have a sulphurous life.”
It is true that Mélanie Laurent is one of those celebrities whose private life remains private and it is not the actress's habit to confide in the media about her love or family life. “My pleasure is that the two times I was pregnant, I arrived on the red carpet and no one knew who the father was, remembers the one who became a mother in 2013 then in 2019. I think that no one knows where I live or what I do.”
Hollywood stars
Since the success she experienced in the United States, Mélanie Laurent has learned to no longer be intimidated by Hollywood celebrities. “They take away the star system in the second,” she explains. They come right away to say hello, you have the impression that everyone adores you when not at all.”
His friendships with Angelina Jolie
In the middle of stars who pretend, the Frenchy however, managed to form real friendships. As with Angelina Jolie, director of Sea viewreleased in 2015, to which she also gives the answer. “I spent a lot of time with Angelina Jolie, we had big discussions that went beyond the director-actress relationship, we spent time together,” she confides. We remembered afterwards, I had just had a baby, she took a lot of care of me as a mother.”
