What else might surprise you from Elon Musk? Perhaps the fact that he plans to buy the famous Baldur's Gate license… The richest man in the world doesn't like people to attack this fifty-year-old role-playing game. The Daily, here we go!
There has been some drama recently on X, the media outlet owned by Elon Musk. The latter in fact reacted to the preface of the historical book The Making of Original Dungeons & Dragons. The latter, written by a historian, looks at the cultural and particularly misogynistic issues of the first versions of the role-playing game. The billionaire's reaction was virulent: “No one has the right to criticize Gary Gygax and the geniuses who created Dungeons & Dragons”(the work from which the Baldur's Gate series arose, editor's note). But what is wrong with Hasbro and WoTC? Let them burn in hell.”
Responding to the backlash, Dungeons and Dragons project lead Jason Tondro expressed that he didn't care what the Tesla CEO thought. To answer all this, Elon Musk asked a simple question: “how much does Hasbro cost”, raising questions about his motivation for buying the company. The Daily is over!
