The King of the Netherlands, his wife and their three daughters posed in the heart of Amsterdam for a traditional family portrait.

Royalty buffs will be delighted. It was together, this Friday, November 29, that King Willem of the Netherlands, his wife Maxima and their three daughters posed in the picturesque setting of the Begijnhof, one of the oldest inner courtyards in Amsterdam, to a traditional family portrait.

To celebrate the season, princesses Catharina-Amalia (20 years old), Alexia (19 years old), and Ariane (17 years old) as well as their mother wore long coats and each had their own color. While Queen Máxima shined in white, her daughters displayed more autumnal tones: Catharina-Amalia in beige, Alexia in fuchsia, and Ariane in dark brown.

The photo session, however, took an unexpected turn when an unexpected guest showed up: Mambo, Princess Ariane's Maltese bichon. As the members of the royal family gathered for a final photo, the little dog suddenly came running towards them. “The little dog was visibly facing a pressing need which he hastened to satisfy against the trunk, ignoring the objectives immortalizing his activity,” we read in Paris Match . Enough to trigger the hilarity of the three princesses and their parents.
