Swedish public broadcaster SVT announced this week the list of 30 artists competing in Melodifestivalen, the qualifying competition for Eurovision. Among them, the former co-host of “La Roue de la fortune” on TF1.
Who will succeed Marcus and Martinus, winning duo of the 2024 edition of the Melodifestivalen with the title Unforgettable ? A true institution in Sweden, this national song competition created in 1959 allows the winner to represent the Scandinavian country at theEurovision. With Ireland, Sweden is the country to have won the international competition most often with seven victories, the last of which in 2023 with the title Tattoo performed by Loreen.
The Swedish public group, SVT, announced this week the list of 30 artists competing for the 65th edition of Melodifestivalen which will take place from February 1 to March 8. The latter will be divided into five groups of six which will see the two best qualify for a grand final. The third places in each group will take part in a repechage phase where the two best will obtain their ticket for the final evening. The twelve finalists will be decided, 50-50, by the combined votes of the public and a jury of professionals.

Among the artists involved, a face well known to the French public: Victoria Silvstedt . First runner-up to Miss Sweden in 1993 and model, the one who notably co-hosted “La Roue de la fortune” alongside Christophe Dechavanne between 2006 and 2011 on TF1 also launched into music in the early 2000s. At Melodifestivalen, the woman who celebrated her 50th birthday on September 19 will perform the song Love it! written by Jimmy Jansson and Erik Thomas Gustafsson, aka Thomas G: his.
