Jacques Martin was an emblematic figure of the small screen from the 1970s to the 1990s. During his career, he hosted entertainment shows like Le Petit Rapporteur, L’École des fans or even Dimanche martin. In March 1998, however, his life was turned upside down when he suffered a terrible stroke. Following this tragedy, Jacques Martin found himself half paralyzed. His career was abruptly ended and he died almost ten years later, widespread cancer. According to those close to him, his stroke was not due to chance.
Jacques Martin had a stroke after a terrible announcement
On Tuesday, November 26, Patrick Sébastien was a guest on the show Chez Jordan on C8. During his interview, Jordan de Luxe wanted to talk about Jacques Martin. He thus mentioned a passage from his book The Carnival of the Ambitious (Ed. XO) on this subject. “Jacques Martin was a TV icon, he was fired as violently as me. That evening he had a stroke and declined until his death. They killed him” he quoted. After reading this passage, Patrick Sébastien could only confirm. “It's the truth. Jacques, the day they fired him, the same evening, he had a stroke. And afterward, he never recovered from the stroke, he declined. They know it, they know it all” he said.
