Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have lived in California for several years. With their children, Archie and Lilibet, husband and wife are they living their last moments in the United States? Indeed, recently, the couple bought a house for several million euros in Portugal.
For some, this real estate purchase is a sign that the Sussexes will soon leave Montecito to settle in Europe.
But now a big blow has just fallen on them. Indeed, according to a source, the house is not in condition to be lived in full time but rather to spend a few months of vacation there:
“The villa in Portugal is more of an investment than anything else and the construction is not even finished yet.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry still cannot live in their house in Portugal
In reality, this purchase is simply a real estate investment and not a need to find another home: “It was not purchased as a new home, but rather as a vacation home and something they can invest their money in to protect their assets.”
Also, in Portugal, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be able to find Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, who also own a house in Melides, just south of Lisbon.
A way to get closer to the British Crown?
Pauline MacLaran, professor and author of Royal Fever :
The British Monarchy in Consumer Cultureindicates that the presence of a member of the royal family in this city clearly influenced the Sussexes' decision: “I think this greatly influenced their purchase and allowed them to establish a familiar circle of friends for their stays there, as well as providing their children with the opportunity to get to know their first cousins ”.
Moreover, “if the Sussexes intend to use Portugal as a base from which Harry can travel to the UK during their stay, then perhaps that he will be more likely to repair the relationship with his father if he can go there more easily for short periods”.
