No reconciliation with the rest of the family

The young parents finally found refuge thanks to a church, which lent them a tin cabin without water or electricity. “They had nothing”remembers Dany Boon. A cousin ends up alerting their ancestors by reminding them that their granddaughter “is pregnant and almost on the street”. Finally, the couple is housed in a family apartment, but without reconciliation with the rest of the family.

A significant event for Dany Boon was his uncle's wedding: “My mother absolutely wanted to attend, but her father let it be known that if they saw her, they would throw her out. So, dressed in Sunday best, we went to the exit of the town hall. We saw my family from there. across the street, but we couldn't join them. I saw my mother crying, and I didn't understand why we were excluded. That day, I vowed to make my mother happy and make her laugh. .”
